Navasky School Calendar 2010-11
The mission of the Navasky Religious School at Congregation Beth El is to instill in our students and their families a love for Judaism and the Jewish way of life, to provide them with the tools for their spiritual journey, and to make meaning of the world around them in the context of the Conservative Judaism Movement.
Jewish learning is a life long commitment. In order to live as a Jew, one must understand the basic tenets of Judaism. At the Navasky Religious School, we strive to instill a commitment to Torah and God, which are at the heart of Judaism. We strive to foster a strong love and sense of commitment to the State and People of Israel. A basic knowledge of Hebrew provides our students with the ability to participate in all aspects of synagogue life. It is our goal that each student feels a connection to Congregation Beth El as a central feature of his or her Jewish life through the integration of school, home and the synagogue.
By celebrating and observing Jewish holidays both at the synagogue and at home, students will be able to maintain Jewish life and tradition. Through teaching Jewish values and ethics, we want our students to understand that all Jews are connected to and responsible for one another, the Jewish community and the world around them. Our students live these values; learn the meaning and purpose of Tikun Olam (Repairing the World) and grow to understand the importance of bringing Judaism into every aspect of daily life.
School is in session on Sunday mornings from 9:30 AM to Noon for all grades and on Tuesday afternoons from 4:15 to 6:15 for grades 3 to 7.
