The building is red brick, in Georgian Colonial style, with a cupola topped by a Star of David. Its front takes up all of a short East Avenue block. "TEMPLE BETH EL" appears over the front entrance. Parking is on streets to either side, or in the lot behind.
FROM I-95, THE CONNECTICUT TURNPIKE
North (New York & Stamford)
Take EXIT 16 and turn left at the traffic light onto East Avenue. Proceed straight ahead 0.5 mile through 3 more lights. Synagogue is on the right.
South (New Haven & Bridgeport)
Take EXIT 16 and turn right at traffic light onto East Avenue. Proceed straight ahead 0.5 mile through 2 more lights. Synagogue is on the right.
FROM THE MERRIT PARKWAY (ROUTE 15)
North (New York & Stamford)
Take Exit 39A onto Route 7 South. After a short distance, the highway ends by leading off in three directions. Follow signs leading onto 1-95 North (Bridgeport. New Haven). After very short distance on 1-95, exit at Exit 16. Turn left at the traffic light onto East Avenue. Proceed straight ahead 0.5 mile through 3 more lights. Synagogue is on the right.
South (New Haven & Bridgeport)
Take Exit 41 in Westport. At traffic light turn left on Route 33 toward Weston. At first traffic light, turn left onto Newtown Avenue. (Newtown will become East Avenue at the 4th traffic light, about 3.5 miles.) At the 5th light, you continue straight, crossing Route 1. The next traffic light is a major intersection. Continue through on East Avenue passing Norwalk Inn on the left. Synagogue is on the left.
FROM ROUTE 7
Coming "South" from the Danbury & New Canaan direction:
After crossing into Norwalk, follow signs that lead onto the 4-lane section of Route 7. (Turn right opposite the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles which will be on your left, go to 2nd light then left onto 4-lane section.) After a short distance, the 4-lane highway ends by leading off in three directions. Follow signs leading onto 1-95 North (Bridgeport/New Haven). After short distance on I- 95, take Exit 16. Turn left at traffic light onto East Avenue. Proceed straight ahead 0.5 mile through 3 more lights.
Synagogue is on the right.

From I-95 (North or South)
Get off Exit 13. Take Right at end of exit ramp onto US Route 1. Take Left onto Richards Ave (Shell Station on Left). Proceed North on Richards Ave to Memorial Park Cemetery on Right side of street.
From Merritt Parkway (CT Route 15)
From North (Exit 38)
Take a Right at the end of the exit ramp on Route 123 South. Take first Right after going under the parkway overpass onto Nursery Rd. Take your first Left on Ponus Avenue. Bear Right at the fork onto Fox Run Road.
Proceed through the traffic light and bear right around Fox Run School.
Take a Left at stop sign onto Richards Avenue. Follow Richards Avenue to Memorial Park Cemetery, on Left side of street.
From Merritt Parkway (CT Route 15)
From South (Exit 38)
Take Right at end of exit ramp onto Route 123 North. Take first Left onto Nursery Road. Follow the directions above.
